Anne van Stappen sums it up perfectly in this little workbook: putting your own wellbeing first is not selfish. If you always think only of others, you’ll eventually burn out. That’s why this is about treating yourself more often, being kinder to yourself, consciously setting aside time for yourself, and firmly embedding the phrase ‘I love myself’ in your diary.
This 64-page booklet is part of a series of small workbooks – little ‘psycho-coaches’ – that take a light-hearted, playful approach. The series was developed by psychologists, so it’s packed with tests and interactive exercises. Because you write in it yourself, your copy will, over time, become a very personal companion on your journey to happiness.
Anne van Stappen is a doctor and a Belgian trainer in Non-Violent Communication. She has been working in the field of human relationships for many years and has been offering talks and workshops on communication and conflict management since 1995. She has also published the volume ‘Setting Boundaries – Saying No’ in the ‘Little Workbook’ series.
Illustrated by Jean Augagneur, translated from the French by Claudia Seele-Nyima, published by Trinity Verlag. Often, all it takes is a few small nudges to regain control of your own well-being.
