In ‘Was brauchst du jetzt?’, many of the animals are not feeling well: Stefanie Schnecke wants to sleep, Mia Maus has hurt her foot, Kora Kolibri is feeling gloomy and Igor Igel is afraid. Flips, Flaps and Flups are also struggling to study for bird school, while Emil Erdmännchen, Carla Chamäleon, Balduin Bär, Pedro Pfau, Martha Maulwurf, Katrin Katzenkind, Erwin Eichhorn, Zita Ziege and Hansi Hahn are close to despair.
Then Gino Giraffe appears. He puts into words what matters to the animals at that moment and helps them find a suitable solution under their own steam. The cheerfully illustrated picture book by Hanna Grubhofer and Sigrun Eder follows on from the bestseller ‘Was brauchst du?’ and shows children how inner conflicts can be resolved with Nonviolent Communication and what self-care can mean for them.
After the story, activity pages for drawing, writing and talking encourage young readers to take charge of unsatisfying situations themselves. As a bonus, there are many animals to colour in and cut out. Glued onto card, they become needs cards for a child's bedroom.
Illustrated by Barbara Weingartshofer. Published by edition riedenburg, 112 pages, 14 of them in colour.
