Rosenberg wreath

The Rosenberg-Kranz is for anyone who learns best with their hands. Four small pendants made of matt aluminium hang from a keyring, small enough for any trouser pocket, and remind you of the four steps of Non-Violent Communication wherever you go.

Each shape represents one step: an elongated rectangle for observation, a circle for feeling, an oval for need and a square for request. When a conversation becomes tense, you can briefly run the pendants through your fingers and collect your thoughts before you lose your temper.

This leaves more room for connection and less for judgements, diagnoses and the usual verbal missiles. The idea came from a seminar participant who always likes to have something in her hand to help her remember the four steps.
