kunstpostkarte-nr-08-arger-als-weckruf
Art postcard No. 08: Trouble as a wake-up call

This art postcard, No. 08, features the phrase ‘Take anger as a wake-up call to unmet needs’, painted by Christiane Lesch. A little nudge for your fridge, your desk or for that moment when something annoys you again: annoyance shows you where a need is crying out to be heard.

Christiane Lesch, born in 1940, studied graphic design in the late 1950s and is known as a children’s book illustrator. She is a mother of three and, alongside commissioned work, also devotes herself to painting for her own pleasure, including colour etchings and watercolours.

The card was created in collaboration with her friend, NVC trainer Dr Gitta Zimmermann. Gitta gave her a list of quotes relating to the principles of NVC, from which Christiane was free to choose the motifs herself. She explains: “These quotes struck a chord with me straight away.” First came lots of sketches; then she let the designs rest, just as you would let yeast dough rise. It was important to both of them that the pictures were child-friendly and that their vibrant colours would captivate viewers of all ages.

There are a total of 10 art postcards from Christiane’s studio, available individually or as a discounted bundle. You can also get the designs as a pack of 10 in business-card format, to give as gifts or to use as inspiration for workshops and practice sessions. We also stock Christiane Lesch’s perpetual NVC calendar and her children’s book “Lups and Spotty”.
