Who actually enjoys dwelling on old wounds? Most of the time, we prefer to push painful memories to one side and then wonder why we suddenly find ourselves reacting with anger, insecurity or hypersensitivity. In this little workbook, Colette Portelance shows why it’s worth taking a closer look: only by understanding your emotional wounds can you allow them to heal.
The booklet uses tests, questionnaires and short exercises to help you get to the root of what triggers your emotional distress. Ultimately, the aim is not to dwell on old wounds, but to take the first step: to see your wounds as resources for a fulfilling life. However, in cases of severe traumatic experiences or persistent mental health issues, this booklet cannot and should not replace professional support.
Colette Portelance is an educational scientist and therapist. For decades, she has been supporting people in overcoming psychological and interpersonal problems.
Jean Augagneur has contributed 40 illustrations, and the booklet has been translated from French by Claudia Seele-Nyima. Published by Trinity Verlag, 64 pages.
We also stock Colette Portelance’s ‘The Little Workbook – Healing Emotional Wounds’, which explores this topic in greater depth.
