Castro’s need cards

Markus Castro, a CNVC-certified trainer from Potsdam, has developed this set of 54 needs cards. We’re delighted to be offering it here in the Empathikon Shop, and we invite you to take your time and have a look at the cards at your leisure: every design is worth a second look.

In Non-Violent Communication, needs cards are a tool that makes it easier for you to access your own, often hidden, needs. They help you become aware of which needs – such as the need for safety, recognition, connection or freedom – lie behind your feelings. And because it’s often difficult to put these needs into words, using the cards to name them helps you gain greater clarity and self-understanding.

The cards are also useful when talking to others: when both sides use the shared language of needs, empathy grows and conflicts can be addressed more constructively. As a visual aid, the cards also encourage you to reflect on your own values and priorities. This supports the learning process in NVC workshops and strengthens your ability to understand yourself and others better.
