Non-violent Communication and Power

In this book, Marshall B. Rosenberg distinguishes between two forms of power: ‘power over’ and ‘power with’. He focuses on a question that has probably crossed your mind too: How do you increase your own influence without compromising your values and needs, and without disregarding those of others?

The book grew out of a seminar that Rosenberg held in Italy a few years ago together with Vilma Costetti. In conversation with the participants, he takes a close look at various spheres of power: political power, power in organisations, but also the power at work in schools and families.

He also devotes particular attention to the power of empathy and what it can mean for your health. Rosenberg explains this complex topic in simple language and shows you how power can also be conceived and lived differently: as something that draws its greatest strength from the fact that you exercise it together with others.
