Resolving conflicts through non-violent communication

This book is an interview: the Berlin-based journalist and NVC trainer Gabriele Seils talks to Marshall Rosenberg himself about his ‘Language of Peace’. It is precisely through her questions that it becomes particularly clear once again how Non-Violent Communication differs from the usual way of speaking: it is always about connection.

Over 160 pages, the book explores, amongst other things, the question of whether you want to be right or happy (as you cannot have both), feelings (the aim in life is to laugh all our laughter and cry all our tears) and the language of needs: A conflict is the tragic expression of an unmet need, whether your own or that of the other party.

The paperback was published in 2004 by Herder Verlag. It is regarded as a classic amongst NVC books and is suitable both for beginners and for anyone who has been practising NVC for some time. If you have already read several NVC books, you may not find much that is new here, but the personal, conversational style makes this book special nonetheless.
